So i'm debating on pulling the front pump and solenoid pack to the the shift and pump mod. But since the truck has a fresh transmission it may not be necessary since theres a chance it was already done seeing it has a billet TC and aftermarket tranny cooler. If it does it will cost me more money and time. Decisions, decisions.
Modding the front pump and solenoid pack to increase line pressure on the shifts. Would greatly increase the life of the trans, but I dont want to get away with why I got the truck. Cheap fix for a cheap DD while i finish my other projects
It lives!
There is a vacuum leak since I cant find where one of the fittings goes, its part of the hvac system so it doesnt effect the idle much, A/C blows ICE cold. I would guess since the engine sat out in the moisture and rain that is the reason one of them is screaching like a *****. Tomorrow I'll replace it, but today i'm going to jump on getting the interior in so I dont have to walk any more.
For whatever reason the night pics always come out looking dirty, but the interior is now spotless, no smell, except the fresh vanilla air freshener.
95% Done, just need the passenger arm rest and to replace the door handles.
Here is how I fixed the drivers side arm rest, even fixed the auto fold feature
Been lazy about updating, fixed the passenger armrest a day after the drivers side
Also started gathering parts for the new engine
Also have a set of 393w h-beam rods and pistons that will go with the custom grind cam. Truck still needs to pass smog so i cant go to crazy with the engine. Torque is my main concern however, the truck is such a dog I cant even merge safely on the freeway, i'm sure 208k doesnt help. Good thing it has a newish transmission.
Didnt have a bearing puller (david copperfield must have it now) so I used a 7' long piece of rod and smacked the bearings out from the back side. Reinstalled everything then as i was finishing up my cover, the very last bolt broke, its above the fluid line so i'm not worried about it.
Now that everything is finished, onto the brakes tomorrow. One less thing to worry about with the truck.
Thanks, no reason not to do everything right the first time. I would have liked to get the 393 going when I first pulled the motor but I needed wheels. So I'm working on the 393 with another block and will use the 351 that comes out as a spare for my 88GT.
what are the specs for the 393 build your doing? i would love to know what your doing and your experiences while building it because im planing on doing that to mine or maybe a 408 stroker, but i have no emissions laws in my state, thank god
