tranny ?
i bought a 77 for the c6 tranny that is in it. the truck hasnt been driven in 5 or six years. the po didnt know much about the truck cause he had bought it for the motor and never ended up pulling it. my question is when i pulled the tranny out it was clean. the pump has what looks like to me fresh paint like its been rebuilt not to long before. should i be ok with just changing the fluild and running it. the fluid was bright red and didnt smell burnt. i dont know much about automatics

Drive it like ya stole it!
If you have the tranny removed it couldn't hurt to air check the system, but like I said I would run it. Worst case you have to pull it again. Best case it runs great and you just saved a bunch of trouble.
