Thanks Number, you're right, I should have specified styleside which is in fact what I have. And yeah, I need 2 so I'll be calling one of these dealers that has two and hopefully only pay shipping once...

Luke

EDIT for NumberDummy: I did see your comment about the Portland Swap meet... I can't make it up there this weekend but good idea to keep in mind for parts in the future.

I'm still too much of a newbie to send PM or email or I'd written you back that way.

Hey guys, called the dealer in Omak, Washington and they do in fact have two inserts which they are shipping to me today. Six bucks apiece, can't beat that.

Thanks so much once again... this forum is great. I gave out some rep for what it's worth.

Thanks for the sentiment, cuz that's what you gave out. When 's have less than 25 posts, any rep points they give are neutral, so no one really gets any.

At least you made an attempt, some peeps on FTE have no clue about reps or how to give them.

I just rep'd you, how many did you get?

Hmm, I can't see anywhere that it tells me how many points I have, I've looked all over the User CP and my profile... at any rate I have a positive rep so far and it says I am "starting off" positively... though probably everyone does.

I need to just start my build thread, that will get my posts up in a hurry. I've been waiting to have enough material for a good start, but I think I'm there. I'll get it posted up this week.

I was here for something around a year before I discovered what this rep stuff is and that people had been giving me points for some time already.

Luke... I don't remember if it looks different for a newbie, but all I do is go to my User CP and all the rep stuff is in the main pane, just below any active threads I'm currently subscribed to.

Bill - I hit him up, too, but I think all I'm worth is 6, so some simple arithmetic by him might tell you what you're worth (last I remember, I think it was 10 or 13 or somewhere thereabout).

Aha, I see it on the main page - I have 33 points! I've been involved with several forums and yeah, this rep stuff is new to me too...

Can we trade our rep points for candy? Or a NOS dash pad?

PS: 33 - 6 means NumberDummy is worth 27 points! Yes, you two are my only rep-givers so far.

Search through the archives, I seem to remember somebody is (finally) offering a replicated dash pad that isn't just a cover.

I think it was withing the last year or so.

*gasp* I'm thinking you must start off with 10 or something near there.

FTE Administrators give the highest, which is 30.

I could understand somebody of his stature giving out 17, but I really doubt 27....

Got my Summer 2012 LMC Catalog the other day and noticed they are now selling these hinge inserts.

LMC Part Numbers:
49-8474 - Left Hand - $6.95
49-8475 - Right Hand - $6.95

Shown on page 28: Click here.

Not sure what the difference between right and left hand would be, when I ordered the ones from the dealer that we have been discussing in this thread, it seemed like there was only a single part number for both. My truck is still at the painter's so I can't go out and look...

Anyway maybe this will help someone else. If nothing else the LMC inserts are cheap enough.

If LMC's catalog lists right and left inserts, how could either be correct, since there's only one?

LMC's catalogs are rife with errors and omissions. Caveat Emptor ~ Let the buyer beware.

Revive an old thread

I recently bought an 86 and I need the tailgate hinge inserts. Nobody has them available. Lots of them for the 87. Nothing available for an 86.

any leads on these ?
