black windshield trim?

Hey guys. I'm looking at buying some new windshield trim since mine isn't in the best of shape. It has a few dents in it.. Is there anywhere that we can get the factory black windshield trim that came on the Lightnings and IIRC the Eddie Bauer Broncos had the factory black trim also. Not sure what else. If I can't get the black trim new, I will have to get some good chrome trim and have my guy paint it. Thanks!

This is the only picture I can find of it.

Have you tried calling a glass replacement company? They might actually stock it.

You think so?? Let's take some opinions. Body color or black? I will check with some glass places and see if they have the black replacements.

Black would look good, but I could see body color on your truck working really nicely also...so its a toss up on that...if I had to pick I would go with black color...but like I said either would work

I have been looking for the black forever and no resto company sells it.

LMC only has a few black pieces for the trim. I have yet to check glass companies though, one I did talk to said no glass company would carry that as its an oem product.

My Bronco XL has black windshield trim too. Might be more widely used than we thought. Question: Do the "smoked" headlights put out as much light as a clear or are they even slightly noticably dimmer. Its a great look, but in Alaska in winter, i cant afford to lose any headlight effectiveness.

If you have a plating place close to you, you might see about having the aluminum trim anodized (sp) in black, it should last longer than paint.

Just got home and looked in my LMC catalog, and they only offer the lower piece black. Everything else chrome.

Even if you did track down all of the windshield trim in black, it would probably cost more than just painting it...

And I would go with black instead of the body color for the trim.
