I'm sure the light output is greater than the grid patterned stock headlights, but the smoked might be slightly less than the 100% clear Euro headlights.

Even if the light output is better than the grid pattern, the aftermarket reproduction lights do not focus the beam as well as OEM fomoco lights do. I've had two different brands of aftermarket, and was not impressed with either. I have new Ford lights now and it works great.

First off; that truck is gorgeous! That color red looks amazing! As for the trim pieces, I'm going to have to agree with everyone that black is the way to go. Just sand and paint the chrome and call it a day.

Now that i see the pic of your truck , the black will be fine with the black mirrors and wheels , like ghanson said just sand and paint them , mine have been painted for 3 years now with no chiping or peeling....

Just prep them well! Sand thoroughly, prime, paint, and clear coat.

smoked will be less then the 100% clear lamps...honestly I would say don't get smoked, yes they may look fine but how much is your safety worth honestly? I would put high powered xenon lamps on my truck if it meant being safe and visible...(granted thats over kill but it gets the point across) if you must have after market lamps go clear man, they look just as good, click the link in my sigy for my project thread, around page 8 or so I have pics of my clear turns in and will be getting clear corners and head lamps soon (when I can buy them) as I feel they look better and are safer!

On Topic: I think the general consensus will be go with black bro...would look killer and I have to agree with that my self now that im looking at your truck when I got more time

when painting chrome use a good sealer and etching primer.

I've seen painted chrome parts never last more than a year

You have smoked parking lights, but aren't your headlights stock?

The small amount of reduction in light output with smoked headlights probably won't be very noticable, but it is there.

I am going to get the windshield trim painted black when I find some good pieces or get some new ones. Thanks for the opinions guys.

On the headlight debate. I have clear lights on my F-250 and smoked on my F-150. I can't tell much if any light difference between the two and both are significantly better than my stock lights were. I do not see either one of them as a "safety" issue as someone tried to say earlier in this thread and wouldn't hesitate to put them in another truck if the chance ever presents itself.

Correct....

Smoked Turnsignals
Stock Headlights....

but the facts are, the lights are brighter than the amber lights...
