The Orphan Years of course, '57-'60, specifically the '58 Mercury M-100.
Then one of these days in the future I'm going to find a '53 Mercury M-100 for Lady Flashman to motor about in.
I've an odd ball one for you, I have in the garage a '59 Thames Van, it's an English Ford. Seen them used in a few flicks made in Hollywood in the past, other than that haven't seen any others about.

My favorite is 51 and Mercury.
Hey guys, I put my vote in for the fridge years...57-60 as I am on my 2nd 60, both had the wrap back window( to see if the fridge light really does go out) my first 60 was my first truck so I figured its a good year as now I have a 2nd one.
I do like the 48-50's to and way back to the 35's as well
I've always liked the 51 - 52 ford. When I was a kid and saw that 1970's show "Sanford and Son" who had the 52' I fell in love with the truck ever since. As an adult I was able to buy one.
Speaking of TV shows...if anybody watches Judging Amy, there has been a 57-60 panel (haven't seen enough of it to tell the year for sure) driven by Cheech Marin who plays a gardener in the last few episodes...it looks like a very nice truck. I was also a big fan of the Sanford and Son pickup.
I say 57 because they are one of a kind. I have only seen maybe 7 others in person in 15 years.
As for TV shows. Has any one ever seen a I love Lucy movie that they were driving a 57 pickup racing another family through a desert?
After having my 1960 for 27 years it is now part of me. You just do not see many of them like the 54-56 Ford. The 1960
has a personality of its own. You cant miss the the front chrome grille for those that are chrome. Now that the interior is complete
its now time for some paint again.
sancochojoe,
The Beverly Hillbillies truck was a 1921 Oldsmobile.
Mr Haney's truck on Green Acres was a 1923 Ford Model T.
Another show would be The Andy Griffith show. I remember an episode where a fairly new 1959 F-100 pulled into the Filling station.
On Mayberry RFD, Ken Berry's character drove a 1959 Ford.
57_ford,
I kind of remember that movie with Lucille Ball, but I definately remember the truck.
I remember another movie with Alan Arkin where he sent his 3 sons on a cross country adventure to pick up an old Caddy he bought for his wife. There was a really nice restored '57 in that movie, but I can't recall the name of it.
