The guy who rebuilt my trans ask me if I tow in OD. I said yes. he looked at me like I was a fool. I just told him it all boils down to common sense. I watch what I'm doing and the slightest lugging I hit the noice switch, as Mrs Evan calls it. LOL I also pull at 70mph, my truck is at a good power range there. If I go 65mph I actually get less mpg and have to use the 'noice' button more. Two trans coolers help too.

Yep, my wife dubbed it the "Noisy Button" on our move across the country from NC to Oregon.
With the 3.55 gears I noticed that cruising at 70 while towing works great but if you lose speed at all you need to kick it down into 3rd.
