I purchased a 1996 f250 with 137,000 miles here in Alabama last year. Truck options: XLT, cruise, tilt wheel, power air bench seat, 2x4, cassette radio, e4od trans, needed tires, goose neck ball, tool box, white, very little rust, some dents, power windows and locks, I will list other options I missed. The truck had minor problems then three months after purchase it went to having issues. I paid $4000
It all depends on the issues. I paid 1k for my truck but got it from a family member. I have it for sale for 4200 with rust.. lots of calls. I think you paid a fai price for it.
Depends on the issues like Ryan said. If the trans was going out and the injectors were going, then yes. If it was missing some doir trim and your wipers didnt work, you paid a fair price. Depends on condition. I got my f350 cc 5spd for 9000 but it had a lot of extras and no problems
thats some troubles there i paid 6k for mine and i just had to change the glow plugs and with 203k on her still goin strong has good power came with inner cooler waste gate down pipe etc id sell it if some offered the right price but i like the truck!
With all that, in my neck of the woods it'd be about 3500ish. So your not far off. Stick sround here, the best forum on the interwebs. We'll get her running right as rain, and help you spend your money on her too!
Haha I dont have trouble spending money on it, oh and the glow plgs are bad.
Best bet would be to start a fresh thread with each of the issues, and I know the folks on here will help you each step of the way. When they are helping you diagnose problems they will ask you many questions, but typically in an orderly fashion. If they ask you to check something then do it and respond back. Doesn't sound like you have major catastrophic issues at all, so I know the folks can help. Glow plugs being bad could just be he relay. The experts can tell you how to check. So welcome to FTE and enjoy the PSD.
