Ive got a 77 f150 4wd with 4 speed tranny that Im doing a 300 to 460 swap on. Ive got the frame perches from a 351m/400 to use, but I dont have the motor mounts. Does anybody have a picture of what they look like? Also can they be purchased from a local parts store? As far as I can tell the only other items I'm missing is the harmonic balancer and the bellhousing clutch bracket. Please feel free to clue me in on anything else I've missed.
P.S....Ive read the other swap posts until my eyes are ready to bleed! haha! Thanks for any help
If you are going to use the 351 perches, you can either fab your own mounts, buy a set from L&L (available at broncograveyard.com) or I think there are a few other places that make them, just do a search on google. I don't think a parts store will carry them or be able to get them. The harmonic balancer, your best bet is to pick up an aftermarket one. I am going to buy a Pioneer brand out of summit for like $140. What exactly do you mean by the "clutch bracket"? Do you mean the throwout fork that pivots and connects the throwout rod to the throw out bearing, or the linkage that connects the clutch pedal and the rod?
Thanks, Ill check on those mounts. I meant the bracket that bolts onto the outside of the bell housing, that the clutch linkage hooks into. I dont know the real name of it, but on the 300 its a threaded stud that screws into the block. I remember that on v-8s there was a bracket with a couple of bolt holes used to hold the clutch linkage. But I cant seem to find one.
