Did you get a new one to replace it? I need to get the hard ware for mine so i can make sure it is bolted down and properly aligned.
yeah i replaced it, i just used the same bolts from the old one since they were all reuseable, the only thing i need to get are the plastic tabs to hold the molding trim for around the windows, i think jeffs bronco graveyard sells complete hardware sets for caps, im pretty sure thats where i saw them at
Ya i have seen them there, after i get a price on the damage for my trans and get that fixed i can look into ordering the kit. I just have to wait till it warms up to take my top off Then i can get the clips in and bolt the sucker in. That might also help a little with getting my back window up
yeah i had a hell of a time getting my bolts out, i sprayed with PB blaster so much lol seemed to not work, got all but the back two, one on each side out, got one out with visegrips and the other with a sawzall, lucky i had some extra bolts from the other cap i got...needless to say becare putting the bolts in, i almost took my windows out a few times, (whew lucky thats over with lol, i got a test to make sure it dont leak, poured all night last night, hopefully i dont have a swimming pool lol
Ya nobody likes leaks, my top doesn't leak so far but i don't know how much rust is under it on the edges. I only have 4 bolts 2 on each side of the horizontal side parts and thats it. Those were not even tightened down till i got my hands on it. As with most of this truck it seems to be held together by luck and loose bolts
Ha ya those kinda suck. I also got some ratcheting combo wrenches for xmas so i won't really have to worry so much about the glass getting hit till i loosen them a bit
mine werent bolts so it sucked they were some funky bolt that had a weird screwdriver type thing, it was kinda like a star, or as i call it just a pain in the *** lol
Maybe a torx head? That could be a PITA but i have to get the kit and look at it. I will find some way of getting it done. But i don't want it to rain while i have the cap off so i have to leave it on for now.
yeahhh thats what its called lol i couldnt think of what it was lol, i was praying the whole time i was taking mine off that it wouldnt rain, lucky as soon as i had my new one bolted down it started raining lol i just put them seats in id be pretty mad if they got wet lol
Oh ya i know, get that wet seat smell going, bleh. I got 2 waret leaks, abd it is bothe wing windows on my door, my driverside doesn't close and the passenger one has about 6 pennies and still won't seal. I noticed the PO painted the old worn cracked weatherstripping black so it looked glossy and nice. What a douche waffle.
and my drivers door needs to be adjusted it dont shut tight but luckly the water dont come in unless its parked up hill, i keep telling myself im going to get around to fixing that just never do lol
Ya i know the procrastination feeling i had an 82 mustang that had a door problem and i tried new hinge pins but it appeared that some super fat dude leaned on the open door causing the hinge welds to crack and open enough to missalign it. either that or it was just old
it appeared that some super fat dude leaned on the open door causing the hinge welds to crack and open enough to missalign it. either that or it was just old
HAHAHHAH thats great, sure hope a fat dude didnt lean on my door lol
