4x4 indicator light always on

4x4 indicator light always on
My indicator light wont change from 4x4. Doesn't matter if ih 4 low, neutral 2 high. And yes it is shifting between the different settings. Its a manual floor shift. Any ideas what is wrong.? Thanks

This weekend. I had to change the bar between the shift lever and transfer case lever back to the original one so the shift lever would line up with the notches. I don't use 4x4 much anyways but the transfer case lever is moving through the different stages. Must be a sensor some where in the transfer case but could it always show 4x4?

Update, it seemed to correct its self, maybe because I don't use it much and the rod from the lever to the T case was not the right one, and now the original is back on so it is engaging at the correct positions it just needed some use to get it cleaned or something.
