I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I simply don't have time to sort through 210 pages of threads.
I'll start by saying that I'm new to the Texas Chapter. I've been a life long resident of the Great State of Texas. I was born in Tyler, lived in Austin, Houston, again in Tyler and have settled on the civil side of Texarkana.
OK, I'll play. Born in upstate NY, moved to FL, moved to NC, moved to western NY (I'm pleading temporary insanity. Ask around. Everyone will buy this.) then finally to Salado Texas. And I am never moving again.
Originally from Vallejo, CA. Moved to Conroe Texas in 1999 at the request of my employer, R&M Energy Systems, to help start up a new plant (we build offshore drilling rig equipment). I was supposed to stay a year and then go back. A year came and went it and we liked it here too much to go back so we stayed.
Am now living way out in the country half way between Conroe and Cut & Shoot.

Ricky,
I was born in Schenectady. Moved to FL when I was 12. When I moved back to NY, it was to Alfred. Actually I worked in Alfred but lived in Bolivar, but Bolivar is such a small town (dump) it's not on most maps. Before we left, we moved to Corning to give Dawn a shorter commute. We finally had the good fortune to move to Texas.
Born in the large metropolis of Ragley LA. Moved to various places the Marine Corps thought I should go... moved back to Lake Charles area... then to Baton Rouge for a few years. New Job start up in Corpus Christi, company moved me down here. Moved to Rockport and now work in Corpus... it works.
When I was little I bounced back in fourth from Houston, to College Station, etc. with family. So I'm used to Texas, and I like it.
"I ain't from Texas, but I got here just as fast as I could"
