Okay, I got in my truck on Monday morning to go to work and about two miles down the road my brake warning light come on. Brake is not engaged and this continues. I pulled over to check it out and nothing is blocking the brake pedal. Push it down and pull the release lever and the light goes off. I jump back on the highway and it goes off again. I put a little pressure on the pedal with my foot upwards and it goes off. This is driving me nuts, it's like it's not pushing the little metal pin up enough for it to see that it is fully released. Not sure what to do. Any thoughts?
Did you check the brake fluid level? I have had the light come on and after adding brake fluid no more light! Of course I checked the fluid after slamming the parking brake lever multiple times, oiling the brake cable line, and possibly a few taps with a hammer in places . It does sound like a switch/sensor issue though
