alrt so the deal is i picked up a d50 to SAS in my 91 ranger. i know the weaknesses and downsides of a 50 compared to a d60. however my question is (knowing the 50 uses a 60 housing) would it be cheaper to bore the tubes, put 60 inner C's on it, and line bore the carrier bearing seats in order to run 60 internals...or just buy a 60? and the general price for around my area is anywhere of 900+ for a front kingpin 60. ive put no money into the 50 except for an axle trade +200.
im putting it in a 91 ranger excab with 60 rear. but the 50 uses a 60 housing im pretty sure because theres plenty of room to stuff a 60 ring gear/carrier in the pumpkin
the D50 is not a weak axle by any means ! are planning to run mega HP and giant tires ?
the D50 should be fine as is !
depends on what year the axle is there might be a difference in the wheel bolt patterns !
i made a new post but ill include it in this one as well since this one has been goin for a little bit.
i want to use leaf springs all the way around and was wondering if anyone has any good advice on donor vehicle springs that wouldnt interfere with the front wheelbase being changed
