Im changing the O rings and caps for the return lines and the front one (front of truck)on the passengers side has a riser or bolt under it that is different than the others.
I'm not sure if it comes off as two peaces
When I put the wrench on the return line nut the whole thing started to move.
Can someone help me out?
Thanks
Dan
Make sure you put that piece back in too, as it will affect the timing on the #1 cylinder without it. That is a timing adapter that was added on the 7.3's.
From top
Return line fitting
Brass nut / fitting (was not on any of the others)
Is that the timing adapter?
Under that fitting was the plastic return line cap that I replaced.
It's all done and back together now, but I can't start the truck because my batteries are drained...very slow cranks. Must have been from trying to start it forever before I changed the glow plugs..
Dan
FYI the #1 injector line on the Eseries (van) can replace the Fseries line with the timing adapter installed. The Eseries uses #4 for the timing, so their #1 is the correct length without the adapter should you wish to change it.
