There wasnt that many cool options for gauges when I did mine like there is now. If I was to do it again I would definately have some these extremely cool products out on the market. I agree with whoever said to keep a seperate egt gauge. Thats not something that you want to do anything but be able to glance at it whenever you need to and see it immediately.
I have Glowshift in my '97 daily driver and am getting some for my new 6.0. I have sold a bunch of them with only a few issues, and GS has been GREAT to deal with. I wouldn't run them in a Baja 1000 truck, but for daily use they seem to be doing well.
Their pods are every bit the quality of every other pod I have seen, probably because they are all made in the same shop in China or Tawain (just a guess here. )
The '97 has a quad pod with boost, pyro, trans temp and scan gauge.
The 6.0 will have boost, pyro, fuel pressure and scan gauge. The 6.0 computer/scan gauge will read lots of info, more than the 7.3, so it's a very valuable, useful gauge there.
If you have a ZF5, I'd say boost, pyro, scan gauge, and the 4th could be actual ECT since the scan gague doesn't read that out of the box. It does read EOT, so I'd like to see EOT vs ECT. Or you could still put a probe in the ZF and see how hot it's running. I'm told they do get hot, but aren't prone to heat damage like an auto.

Just some thoughts.
Is there a spot ready for the ECT probe or do you just have to find a spot and tap it too? I was thinking it may be cool to see temps on my ZF too but haven't gotten down there to see where it would mount. It's probably always pretty safe but cruising down the beach sometimes to get to a fishing spot jacks the temps on up. That's where the whole 5 spd swap started in the first place.

I would just put it in place of the sender for the factory dash gauge. Then you can put a smiley face sticker, or a nice IH logo badge, over that spot on the cluster.
Quad pod with ISSPROs and a Scan Gauge. Top to bottom- boost, pyro, HPOP, Scan Gauge. I usually monitor oil temp and either coolant temp or IPR DC % on the Scan Gauge. On the couple OBS trucks I've put my Scan gauge in for testing, it will read pretty accurate coolant temps, once the engine is up to temp. It will read bogus when it's cold but, then at some point around 140* or so it will start reading correctly.
