I know it is a big decision. I'm getting close to paint and can't decide. White or blue.
My vote is blue. Not the typical dark blue, but the light blue. My dads old '78 had the light blue paint, and i love it. Also thinks it looks good on these old trucks
77&79F250 - yea i know about the gutter guard but that will just plug up with the small willow leaves around here,.....ugh. My solution is to get rid of the trees which I'm working at . There is gravel around the shop so dirt splatter is minimal. Thanks for the kind words of appreciation on the truck.
JB78F150, not sure what it would appraise at....I"m thinking of having that done this summer. As for what I would want for it..........you can have my dead body before I'd sell you the truck Too much blood, sweat, tears and $$ in this truck to let it go.
Redsuperduty, thanks for the nice comments! Much appreciated. The black and silver is the actual color code for this truck. That was my intention from the beginning to restore it to near factory condition (except lift and motor upgrades . The emblem is the XLT badge as the crews only came in Custom or Ranger XLT packages, no Lariat trim levels. BTW: your truck is just as nice. I drooled on my keyboard when I first seen your truck as I have only seen one other '78 truck (not mine) with these same colors. Black and silver is awesome, but I'm sure you would like the red / white would look very nice too. Always have loved the two-tone color on these old beaties. Much more appeal than all the single colored vehicles of today.
Here is 2 more of my truck as it is now. It is a 1976 F150 Ranger XLT Trailer Special. I hit it with the pressure washer since it has been sitting since 2000 before i bought it last Saturday. the color codes are XF which is Indio Tan and Ginger Glow. Original paint... it's pretty spent. I noticed that under all the paint you see, the paint is "Ginger Glow" even under the interior paint. The interior is all Indio Tan on the surface. 02
Finally got my paint codes figured out. 7U, so Desert Gold Metallic and Pastel Sand. Friends truck is HU, Dark Brown Metallic and Pastel Sand, which is why they look different.
