we allknow that the stock filter will filter best but is the no performance, fuel mileage gain at all from a aftermarket intake? Will it let your truck spool up faster? Does it give your truck a throatier sound?
Allthe threads i have read so far onlt say that the stock one is fine and thats all fine and good but i just want to know hy people buy them if they dont do anything for you?
if there is anyone out there that pro aftermarket what the best one to go with?
I have had a k&n and airraid on both my 7.3 diesel and 6.0 diesel - did not see any fuel mileage gains, but did have slightly better fuel response and think it was worth it. Just be realistic so your not disappointed.
the main reason y people get aftermarket intakes for their 6.0s is they either hear it from someone else, or they hear it from a company thats selling them that it will increase power, spoool up, and all that other good garbage. the K&N may increase spool up a bit, but i wouldnt trust my turbo to it. they let a lot of dirt by. u can tell by just looking in ur intake tubes. the best filter for flow i think is the afe pg7. for the 7.3, the best filter is a tymar. it flows good and filters very good. also, they say the oiled filters work better. well, the oil tends to mess up the MAS. what people dont realize is that the intake that was used on the 6.0 is suuperior for anything under 500hp. otherwise, its just a waste of money.
and if u want it to make more noise, then do the zoodad mod.
