Wheel Cylinder ?

So my back right wheel cylinder was leaking. I got it changed out, everything put back together and noticed one of the rubber sides on the new one had a small tear. Will this cause the new one to leak or is it just a dust cover?

I believe it just a dust cover and you should be ok? I would put a dab of rtv on the tear and put it back together.

Hang tight to get more input to be sure.

X2, the outter boot is a dust cover.
