grill shell

How do I get the coating off the grill shell to polish it? Had bad scratches in two small spots. Sanded and polished them out but now its way shiner them the rest of grill.

I hear if you spray easy off oven cleaner on it and let it sit for about 30 minutes, it'll eat the anodization off and you can polish it. I've never tried though.

Heard on here once you take the anodizing off, you now have to really keep it clean?? I have read on here some folks wet sand it with off real fin levels of sand paper?

Also hear once it all off use turtle wax to keep it fairly clean from the white chalky build up ?

I started with 400 dry to get the coating and scratches off then 800 dry, 1200 wet then 2000wet and finally a buffer and autosol polish. It looked great once done and needed a quick coat of autosol about 2 to 3 times a summer to keep the shine up. If you don't keep up the polishing it fades pretty quick.

You should be able to lay some PPG crystal clear on there and be done with it after you get the shine you want.
