So who here has or has had an Airstream? I think it would be cool to get an old one and refurbish the inside and make it all up to date... Anyone have pictures of theirs?
I'm liking the last one too, would definitely need more sleeping room though.
That table drops down into the seat bench corner tops for a bed and the couch on the wall does a hing slideout to make another bed.
Here is what I found out buyin campers.
If you traide in every three yrs or so then buy new.
If you are like me and keep it for long periods then buy used and some one else eats the first 2 to 3 yrs of depreciation.
If you have a small family (you know about 3 to 4 kids or less) then buy a 26ft to 28 ft with bunks and pull behind for your SUV and if is has one slide your good for several yrs. If you have two slides even better.
Then upgrade to a larger trailer triple slide out and plan it to go with a new truck. By then the kids are more independent and the SUV you have is about spent and then maybe you get a car and a big truck and go 5er.
Thats my story. Worked out well. The smaller pull behind was great for us back then and then the kids start camping outside when they are bigger too.
Then when they get close to being grown you can get a bigger camper and they can camp periodically and you have room for guest too. Grand kids and so forth.
Right now I have a 36ft triple slide that we love and a older truck so you know whats next on my book--a newer Truck. I have been window shopping for 4 months now.
So plan it out in stages and you will harness some great memories and the kids will too.
Great info there... Thanks for digging that up. What does he mean by slide?
Depends
the couch folds out and slides out where the btm slides outward and the back slips down. That cuts off the walk pass in front of the kitchen area when that happens.
the table top comes loose and the two legs pull off of it. then the table top drops into the corner recesses in the seat bench at the btm. Then the cushions from the back fill the space to make a bed.
then there is slide outs they are hydraulic or ram screwed interior spaces that extend away from the trailer to create more interior space.
