Was felling pretty good about the progress on the truck havent got to work on it much lately but thought i had most of the minor issues fixed. Drove it today hit a RR crossing a little hard and the radio quit then the RALB light came on when i got to the hardware store it was puking anti freeze. Drove it back home 20 miles popped the hood no antifreeze leaking anywhere I swear if i didnt love this truck i would scrap it in a heartbeat.
Eh I too know the feeling, my bronco hits pretty hard of RR tracks but i don't have a radio and most of my lights don't work anyways so my bigger worry is my fiberglass top coming off. It only has 4 bolts holding it

Hey Pal, not trying to rag on you or anything, but get that top secured ASAP.

Think of that family driving behind you...please!
Ya i do need to, I need to get the hardware kit and will probably need to pull the top off, Honestly i don't like driving with it like that but i have no choice. Since i live in Washington it rains a lot so i can't really pull the top off just yet. Also at the moment i have more pressing matters to deal with. It could be a 500 pound fiberglass top or a 6500 pound truck hitting someone... Honestly i prefer neither, i don't hit a lot of big bumps as it is so i think the top is fine till it gets a but less rainy
Anti freeze was puking out of a rough spot on the radiator cap neck because a dirt dauber had built a nest in the overflow tube to the recovery tank while it was in my barn waiting to be installed. Pulled the radio and plugged the antenna back in got tunes. Still working on the abs light going to have to buy a code reader
Oh thats good, simple fixes. I don't know really anything on ABS systems except that i am not a fan :| i have had plenty of easy fixes in the past that really made me relieved that i didn't need to spend a ton of money. Other times i have had to spend a lot of money then realized it was something simple
Just when you think everything is fine with your Bronco, and you enjoy getting in it and going places, sometimes where others fear to tread, you get in it one evening, and it will not start... Know that feeling all too well.
Yup, I have had that feeling plenty of time in the morning before i go to work... It got to the point to where i was more afraid of starting my vehicles because something else might go wrong. At the moment i don't have any backup vehicles to drive so if my bronco takes a dive, i am screwed. I should get my ranger back soon though so then i can start doing the heavy work.
One thing i can say about this old heap is every time but once in 22 years it has got me home. Sometimes it never started after it hit the drive way other times it came in on 4 cylinders. The only time it hasnt got back to the house on its own was when the transfer case shifter fork broke and it hung between gears going down the hiway. Ironically i was taking it home to rebuild the transfer case. I have driven it to Canada,Mexico dipped its wheels in the Alantic the Pacific and the Gulf its an old friend cant get rid of it just have to keep wrenching
Thats good, shows the quality of the build. So far my truck hasn't broke down before i got home but it had its time of not running from messed up coil cables.
I can't help but like mine.....it's amazing where we take it.....it's broke down but it doesn't know it.....(I make sure I don't say things like that if it is close enought to hear me ).....I still spend hours patching it up.....yours sounds like it's part of the family Pat......don't turn your back on it now !
