Hi all Just wanted to say reading these forums has help me so much with my truck. You guys seem to think about it all. Kinda makes me feel slow somtimes, I think why didn't i think about that. So all in all thank you so much. Second I have a 1977 F250 regular cab 2wd with a 460 w/ a c6. The people I bought it from let there kids work on it and mess things on it so much that it almost like owning a Chevy. Well in my last post I had to have the idle high to get it to stay running in gear. So I put a rebuilt carb on it and put a fuel regulator on because the spawn of satin put a electric fuel pump on it instead of replacing the stock fuel pump. I like the idea of having an electric but yhey didn't take in consideration the fuel pressure for the carb. Also they just tapped it in the line oof the mid tank so when it was running the mechanical pump boosted it a little. Bye Bye carb!!!!! Any way put on rebuilt Carter and then put in a regulater and I couple of filters. Well I went out to my truck to go home turn the key and start it and the fuel smell was bad so I pop the hood and my fuel system looked like the Fountains at Balagio in Vegas. Well the seal broke on the regulator and shot fuel out and the fuel landed on the distributer. Thankfully no fire!!! I replaced the regulator started it and its running great ( still need to clean plugs ). I thought I was gonna have to hunt down a vacuum leak but evidently the old regulator wasn't regulating so pressure was to much for carb. The new part seem to fix the issue. Oh yeah I replaced all the fuel lines. I just wanted to say thank you for your input and hopfully I can post some pictures. I love my Ford and its Ford or nothing.
