Question In Dash Tranny guage

I have a separate tranny gauge on my pillar. The gauge the dash just started acting a little weird yesterday. Now when a start the truck cold it already registers above the solid block on the temp in the dash. it will climb to normal withing like 5 miles. The pillar gauge show under 100 for quite a long time which is normal. Is there anywhere to check to see where this is faulty? Not that it is a big deal just something I noticed. Thanks

Know its just the way of the beast. The dash gauge just stays in the normal range if it is in the normal running temps set by ford. Thats a wide aray of numbers. Thats why you can't depend on them. I noticed you have the 6.0L cooler as I do. It will stay on the hundred or just above with that cooler for a long time till worked. Thats the good of that cooler. Now if you live in the really cold county, I would put a thermastat by pass on it.

The dash gauge reads in the middle of normal once the trans is above 50°F.

Thumbs up

the 50 degrees temp range makes sense. The last 2 days was warm and it moved pretty quickly. I didnt know what the minimum was to get it to move. I do know that it really wont read over 100 on my pillar and still show middle of the temp in the dash. I never really used it as a real temp but at least I now know the minimum reading etc. thanks
