I saw a thread not too long ago about various interchangeable parts, but I cant find it. Since nobody makes door panels for my 94 or 96, will 87-91 panels work? What about Bronco rear interior cargo panels from an XLT or Eddie Bauer?
I know the interior panels should work no problems, just finding them in good shape is the issue. I'm sure the door panels could fit, but I'm not sure how itd look with the different dash.
I looked all over for upgraded rear cargo panels but ended up replacing the cardboard panels with masonite (dry erase board) covered with vinyl material. Turned out ok, but would like plastic XLT or EB covers. My door panels are ok for XL panels.
87-91 will probably work, but they aren't good for our doors, there where several improvements in the 92-96 years, including the power window switch, amongst others.
Wow! - everything in Alaska is expensive. At least you aren't in New Zealand where they might not even let something like that be shipped in.
I too have a hard time believing that OEM parts just aren't readily available for these broncos. I had a '74 and then a '78 and parts are still flooding the market for them... go figure, I reckon.
Stay warm - it's going down to 17 degrees here in Havana tonight, with a warm-up to 75 by Thursday.
I swapped in rear plastic interior panels out of a 86 (earlier body style than my 1990) Was surprised as I didn't think they made them that early.. they had a 90 in the yard that had the cardboard panels, also surprised with that one.
Anyways, the old plastic panels were about an inch too short for my 1990. They fit, just not as well as I would like, I had to sort of stretch them as none of the screw holes line up perfectly. They're definitely awesome though.
and you dont want the door panels for the 87-91s, they're not as nice as the later models from what I've seen. I know the switches are in a different location (our switches are a big ugly block in a bad location), you also have one extra storage spot AND it's either age and wear, I'm not sure, or yours were just built with thicker, softer plastic and higher quality material than mine.
I still plan on swapping nice later model EBs with rewired switches into my 90.
Right now I just have blue plastic door panels. Very plain. Very ugly. They are in really good shape, but they are blue and ugly and no storage. Was thinking about trying to re-color them black with some dye products I've seen in catalogs (LMC). Has anyone had any luck getting the dyes or paints to work? About 15 years ago I painted my 85 Bronco interior with some "special interior panel" paint, but it chipped right off.

It works pretty good on door panels. I sprayed mine. I just bought the stuff from the parts store.
