Welcome to the site. You posted this in the little Bronco II section. Most likely it will be moved to the correct board. This is the correct forum for the question: 1978 - 1996 Big Bronco - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
The internet is your friend. Use your search engine (I use Yahoo) and you will find lots of information out there. The 400 was a streached 2v Clevland block. They even destroked it for the 351M. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_335_engine I did a on line search of a large auto parts chain and they did list replacement carburators for a 79 Bronco but not a 80. They did down size the big Bronco in 80 same as the other F series trucks.
If you are looking to mod the engine for more power folks used to bolt on 4v Clevland heads. Some places used to make adapter plates to bolt a Cleveland intake to the 400. And others even made intake manifolds. Not sure how much of that is available today. The board on this site for the 400 engine is at: 335 Series- 5.8/351M, 6.6/400, 351 Cleveland - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
Good luck with your truck and again welcome to the site.
well honestly i would find another bronco. unless that bronco is for free.
that motor is a gas hog, wont see anything better then 8mpg maybe 10 at best. that year is also the first year of the new body style and has a weak frame. whats your purchasing budget? I see broncos all the way up to 94 for less than 2k out here on the west coast.
OK THANKS. I DID NOT REALLY NEED THIS I JST WANTED SOMETHING TO TAKE OFF ROAD. BUT WITH A WEAK FRAME I THINK I WILL SAVE MY MONEY AND FIND SOMETHING ELSE. I LIVE IN TX AND DONT SEE MANY OF THE OLD BRONCOS AROUND. IT LOOKS REALLY NICE. BUT I AM GOING TO PASS ON IT. THANKS FOR THE HELP
