I have that....dual purpose is why I chose it...it blocks the sun in that spot also !! We had a terrible time getting blinded before ......take the standard pillar mount gauge size
I've had the dual gauge pod in my F-250 for about 5 years, works well. But, do as suggested above and clean & prep the surface area well before applying the adhesive tape. I've read a couple of folks having issues with the 3 & 4 gauge pods staying attached because of the additional weight.
I wish I had seen those before I decided on the driver side pillar mount. I hate the sun blinding me from over the mirror and it always seems to be right there on long trips. Guess I'll try it if I add any more gauges to monitor engine vitals.
I know there are guys who have had success in getting the 3 pod to stay attached, but for me, nothing has worked. Mine rests on the rear view mirror, and I don't even live in a hot climate.

I wish I could see 'inside' those...
I wonder if you took down the overhead console, if you could take some flat aluminum and make a bracket that would screw to the console bracket, ride up above the headliner but them give you something to screw/bolt the gauge pod to?
It wouldn't look clean from the outside, but I thought about using rear view mirror glue and mounting a small threaded stud on the windshield, then mounting the pod onto the studs through corresponding holes I drilled into the rear of the pod, and threading a nut onto the stud.
It would be hell trying to get the nut started on the threads tho, and then trying to tighten them.
