Superchips
I just bought a 99 F-350.
I got looking under the dash and saw some duct tape on a black box on the drivers kick panel.
I took off the tape and this is what I found.
I guess its a Superchips but i know nothing about them.
How do they compare to the Edge I have in my 2002?
Any info appreciated.

Superchip
It looks like the box the chip came in. Did you look in your PMC to see if there was a chip installed?

It is one of the older style chips that plugs into the PCM. They are usually a set HP gain like 40 or 60 HP. They worked in the day and will give more power like your Edge. Just not the potential of the newer chips that can be programed with multiple tunes and be switched on the fly.
Pull it out and drive it, you should hopefully feel the difference.

My Edge installs through the OBD port.

While the chip is plugged in the PCM?
You'd likely ruin the PCM and the chip.
The chip will completely override anything you flash-program to the PCM.

So my edge would be called a flash program?
