Happy New Year,
My 2001 F-250 7.3 Diesel truck hangs up in park on an all to often basis. I have to manipulate the brake pedal time after time in order for it to release from park and into gear.
I know there are two solenoids related to the transmission shifting but I do not know which one is causing the problem. Any help in identifying the problem would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Roger
Its the brake light relay. Its like 20 bucks and is like changing a fuse. Thats what you here when you hit the brake pedal before shifting into drive. It basically unlocks the shifter. If you ever can get it out of park, turn the truck off then shift into gear.
