So frustrated.. got this truck in April and lots of problems ever since. Friday, truck died AGAIN idling in traffic on expy. Checked oil. Low so added oil. Truck started up, drove 15 minutes and truck died again, at idle speed. Since then, I have:

1. Changed the oil
2. Changed oil filter
3. Changed fuel filter
4. Replaced oil pressure switch
5. Recharged battery

Tried starting today (with and without starter fluid), LOTS of black smoke and it won't turn over.

In the past 6 months:

• fuel pump was replaced
• sock in fuel tank cleaned (fuel filtered when replaced)
• ICP sensor replaced

Hoping someone out there can suggest something before we have to shell out big bucks for help. Husband has 20 years mechanic exp, but this is his first diesel. I have been searching relevant threads here all weekend, but can't seem to find anything with 'black smoke'. This rookie could sure use some help.
