Cold Issue
Need Help; Our 2002 Explorer E.B., V6 4wd 153,000 miles, when cold only in winter months the transmission is slow to go into gear, forward or reverse, takes 10 or 15 seconds to catch into gear. If you warm the car up for 5 minutes or so it is ok no problem. In warm weather it does not do this. Transmission shifts normally and runs great other than this. I changed tranny fluid and filter with Mercon V about 12 months ago. Could it be the solenoid pack or something else. Thanks for any info.

Wife's 99 needs at least 10 minutes before it's ready to move at -20F and colder.
Take a bottle of atf and put it in the freezer.
Stuff will be like molasses in January.
Takes time to warm up all that metal/fluid.
