I've got a Ford 460 engine I rebuilt from the ground up and its all ready to go in, only problem is, Im not sure how the engine mounts are configured. I have what seems to be two different kind of engine mounts and it looks like somethings missing. So my question is, can someone maybe explain to me the components of the engine mounts of suggest a good diagram?
Sir, Each mount consists of 3 pieces, frame, the square rubber block that is encased in steel and crossed drilled for 1/2 bolts, and the reciever that bolts to the block with 3 bolts, the mounts have to be assembled to the engine before lowering it to the frame. There is a kit made by Sanderson that I have seen that is real easy to install. Good Luck, Kenny Nunez
Welcome to the forum first what year and truck are you trying to put the 460 in? 2wd or 4wd? The 460 wasn't available in these until later 70's and only in the 2wd trucks so you may need a conversion kit from a place like autofab Autofab Offroad Trucks or L&L
Hope your 460 is going into a 2wd otherwise you will have to go aftermarket for 4x4.

You cannot use Passenger Car or Econoline 460 engine supports (aka towers, stands, perches) on a truck, they will not work.
1973/79 F100/350 460 is what will work > > >
1) D3TZ-6028-A .. Right Front Support & D3TZ-6029-A .. Left Front Support.
1) D3TZ-6030-A .. Right Bracket & D3TZ-6031-A .. Left Bracket.
These bolt to the block, the rubber insulators bolt to these, then to the supports.
2) D3TZ-6038-A .. Right/Left Front Rubber Insulators.
All the above are obsolete, part numbers listed for clarity & applications.
I would assume the insulators could be bought from parts stores, but junkyards are prolly the only sources for the other parts.
