So the new year is upon us. The biggest hurdle I had last year was finally fixed. My truck steers!
The resolution for this year is to paint the truck and have the seat recovered and carpets put in the truck. I would also like to build and install the 390.
After that, I think my truck will be pretty much completed. Mechanically, everything has been done that I wanted to get done. ....short of the 390 swap.
So let's hear it! What's on the "to-do" list for the new year?
Hopefully, I'll find a paint and body shop that can do the level of quality I want. Next on my list of wants is to get the exhaust system fabbed from 409 stainless steel.
I'll make a list and BTW Alan you and Unk Bob are hopefully part of the install crew?

Yea I know that and thanks again, I just didn't want you to think I had forgot about you two. Will have to see how my work/time off schedule goes, with a 60/30 deal I should be able to get some wrenching and wheeling done?
Rebuild carb and get truck running. Get trans rebuilt and get truck driveable before summer. Get DJM lowering I beams and axle flip kit (this is a stretch)
'recently did the 3G swap so 2012 will include electrical upgrades like a dual battery system, fabricate a switch panel or roof console, wire the fogs, roof, and aux. back up lights, add some OP, V, WT gauges, and install a the latest JY find - a Lincoln Mark VIII electric fan.
1: Fix trans leak
2: New valve covers
3: Overhead console
4: Strip interior, sandblast roof, dynomat, new carpet pad, and maybe new carpet
5: New headliner backing
6: Dyno
7: Misc things from scrap yard
I repaired and repainted the bed last year, cleaned and painted the frame and did a bunch of other stuff to get it road worthy... all brakes, shocks, rear springs, water pump, muffler, fuel tank. It looks decent with a somewhat recent re-paint of the cab and is loads of fun to drive so my first resolution is to keep my projects moderate in duration so its not off the road for long periods.
The original carb on the 400M is getting a little sketchy. I may upgrade there with 4 barrel or possibly FI. I may upgrade the 16.5 wheels to 16's and new rubber. Santa brought me a new front bumper to replace the slightly tweaked one on there now. I'll probably tackle more of the body in stages as I have been able to match paint color well enough. Maybe doors and door frames next.
