Replace ps pump
tune up
finish fab rear bumper brackets and mount sport bumper
tune-up, rebuild carb
install dynamat and mass loaded vinyl in door, ceiling, and floor
buff and color sand exterior
Finish the interior projects I already have going, replace the windsheild and seal, patch the rust in the floor, lay down some carpet, put in a set of bucket seats, make a custom center console, do some bodywork on the cab and get it painted. I'm sure there's some more more that I'm forgetting. lol.
So the new year is upon us. The biggest hurdle I had last year was finally fixed. My truck steers!
The resolution for this year is to paint the truck and have the seat recovered and carpets put in the truck. I would also like to build and install the 390.
After that, I think my truck will be pretty much completed. Mechanically, everything has been done that I wanted to get done. ....short of the 390 swap.
So let's hear it! What's on the "to-do" list for the new year?
yea it is sad ches..but i have over a dozen of these..and i cant afford to let them all sit... i wish i could save them all..but it is this or starvation
RC you are at least pulling the fenderwell chrome, tailgate hinge bars, pop all the locks and ing w/key, small mirrors and lower rocker chrome and those rear bumper outer mount brackets?
Since you are in the side business of "relocation on other fine American automotive parts", I would run a add in the FTE market place section (vehicles for sale-Ford truck parts for sale) and ck the (wanted to buy) to sell some bits and pieces before ya crush'm.
Granted you can't make a living, but ever little bit helps.
My only resolution is to continue to love my "Dent" no matter how hard it'll be to put back together, figure out the wiring gremlins and get through the "test" fazes of everything before I trust it back on the road.
Pull the rusty white grill guard, prime it paint it black and reinstall. New radio, new speakers, new fog lights, trailer brakes. Full tune-up for max HP. Clean engine, repair leak in transfer case. Bed liner.
Use the old Dent to haul at least 7 cords of wood and to haul an Antelope and an Elk off the mountain.
RC, you just had to break my heart by posting that picture, didn't you? Lots of good stuff like Rich said. That rocker molding looks like it's in good shape. Does that bed have a tool box on it before I cut up my rocker molding to go over the tool box I just installed?
........I just need to come down there with a pocket full of cash and walk around for a day or so.
sorry alan here is the other side..no tool box..yea i would like to have stripped all the goodies offa it before crushing..but both me and my partner just cant see any reason to do it all anymore.. if i pulled all the good parts offa these old trucks i would spend my whole day doing that..and if you figure what i would make from the parts that did somehow sell i would average probably less than half of minimum wage for all the work it takes.. i pulled tons of parts off when i was younger that just collected dust and took up space until we get tired of tripping over them and tossed em in the next load out. i still have plenty of trucks with good parts on em. but ray and i both are getting old and just crushing out is looking better everyday.. i try to keep the older stuff but these dents are not really bringing the money to make it worth while spending alot of time with it
