So I guess I need to be schooled on how this secondary filter housing works, as I understand it the fuel enters from the banjo bolt tube (the pipe with the trap on it) then goes through the filter from the outside gets filtered and then flows thourgh the black stand pipe in the middle to the injectors lines? And the blue spring and poppet are there to bleed off any pressure greater than the spring back to the fuel tank?
Btw, is it normal for the fuel to drain out when you pull the secondary filter out? After I took the cap off and pulled the filter out to verify that it is indeed broken I could hear a kinda hiss and the fuel was draining out the bottom, I recently did the blue spring upgrade and the work I did on my truck I had to remove all the lines albeit nothing is leaking
No, it's not normal. Sounds like your HFCM is either dying or has failed. You would be well advised to replace it sooner than later before your ride leaves stranded.
LOL Raptor. Be advised heres how it works. You find out that your fuel return tube is busted so you figure it must be there for a reason even though the truck runs great. So why not fix it. Order the part put it in and fire it up and get it to operating temperature for about 20 min. Turn it off and wake up ready to go to work in the morning. Your little brother pulls up in his 7.3 and is walking up to the truck so you fire up your beastly 6.0 and start to strut tward him and as you shut the door with a grin, your baby falls flat on her face and will not start again HAHA whew
I'm with ya , I just ordered mine today,.as soon as I install mine and it does this I'll be the first to post, but if my fuel is draining from the secondary then it looks like I have to buy a HFCM too, this stupid stand pipe is $40, the HFCM is about $400 the parts I just installed about 3.5k this crap is getting expensive. I couldn't imagine if I had to pay for the labor too and I still need to get a fuel pressure gauge setup. Might have to get a second job just to pay to keep this truck running.

That's why I am the only one who works on my truck! The parts alone will put a man in the poor house.
Yea they can be expensive. Atleast this time ours are breaking down or showing signs that we can diagnose in the driveway lol instead of on the side of the interstate
