Glad you stated you live in the NE...here in CA if I posted modding my CAT, men in black suits would be knocking on my front door 3 minutes after I cicked the "Post Reply" button, LOL

For the re-gear...I'd try to match the tires. Figure the manufacturer tries to meet the requirements of 80% of the customer base...so the power to the wheels are what 80% of buyers want based on towing needs and mileage. Unless you need to pull a house off of its foundation, I'd match the gears to the tires to keep the fuel mileage up. Go too low and you have unused pulling power and lower mileage.

Yea, about the gears. I think 4.56 sounds like about the sweet spot for my future 37" tires. I don't have anything to tow now and I don't plan on towing often in the future. The fuel economy of the V10 already sucks, no worse than my 460, but I don't want to gear it to the point that I can't drive it on the freeway.

About the CAT, I had the cat gutted on my old F250 because it got clogged at ~135K and basically wouldn't go over 30Mph due to extreme backpressure. The new Ex has 112K and I'd rather gut it before it gets clogged. When I had the CAT gutted on the F250 I had a DynoMax muffler put on and it finally had the flow it always wanted (my F250 came with Banks Ram air intake. I live in VT which oddly enough has no emissions testing. Inspection here is a cursory glance at the vehicle and a quick check of OBDII.

For me the X is the first really nice vehicle I've owned. It came from out of state and to me it is mint. I want to really deck it out. It is like a dream come true. I remember seeing the press releases on the X in 1999 when I was graduating high school, I've wanted one ever since.

BTW you guys are awesome, thanks for all the tips, I read much more than I post, someday I'll be able to "give back"
