CPS ?

Just wondering which CPS you guys were running other than the old black one that is no longer available? I am currently running the Ford grey one , but saw this one on Ebay eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices and was wondering if it would work in my 2000 F350 or if I should just stick to the grey one?

The even newer dark gray one is supposed to be a little better than the light gray one that came out for the recall. If you don't have a spare CPS, it's worth picking up one of the new ones.

I'd skip the ebay link though. Partsguyed lists that part for $20.44, brand new, direct from a Ford dealer. www.partsguyed.com

The dark gray one is for the OBS trucks. It will work in our trucks and seems to be similar to the grey one you already have. I tested them out on my truck and a few others. Always got similar results. Some claim the dark gray one makes their truck run better.

Here is the testing I di and the results.

As in Ken's testing, and in my experience, next to the original black INTL the DU-87 CPS passes CCT and gets very good PERDEL readings for all cylinders.

Interesting results Ken. I wonder why your #3 doesn't like the dark gray one? I need to pick up one of these one day and test it out on mine to see how mine reacts to this new one.

No, you didn't miss anything. Those of us lucky enough to have black ones are good to go. Those who did not get one, or don't currently have one need to know the next best thing.

Not sure why #3 did that. I know it had a similar result on another truck I tested it out on too. Now it is in my neighbors '95 OBS since he was having issues, I donated it to him. I wish I were able to run PERDELS on it to see if it changes it on what it is designed for.

Why can't they just make the original black? I wonder what data International and Ford engineers have found in the new grey ones to justify not making the black ones any more?
