Drip drip Oil Cooler....

You know you bought junk when you post as much as me lately....

Haha anyways, noticed it long ago, but since it's almost ready for the road, just wanna get informed first.

Oil cooler on the van drips oil at the back (looks like the tube seals, over the filter).

Not a bad leak, but it's there.

Coolant is Red, oil looked fine (new oil), but old looked fine as well.

Is it possible that the oil cooler can leak out, but NOT mix coolant/oil together?

I thinkg so, if the outer o-ring is bad it would just leak oil, IIRC the inner one seals the coolant from the oil, or the oil from the coolant.

Good to hear!

Cause I don't think I have enough room to get at it in that van......

And no it's not rusty at all for those who were gonna ask me. lol

But the bad news is if that one is leaking what do the other rings look like? When I pulled mine apart (the old 6 ring design) the rings broke into about 15 chucks they were rock hard.

Meh, if it can last a few years, then I'll be pulling the engine out of it anyways to save it.

My 94 has leaked oil at cold startup for the last 2 years, but has never had oil in the coolant. I guess one of these days it won't stop leaking as the engine warms up
