SMS Auto Fabrics Review
Well I got a SMS Auto Fabrics carpet for my 73 F100 about a year ago. Went in easy and looked great. The carpet is green and it has slowly faded to a yellow green. I keep the carpet very clean and the truck is under a open end shed and not much light gets in the cab.
I sent pics and complained to the company....they said they get their carpet from another supplier. They didn't really explain the problem other than the carpet didn't hold up to light.
Well they are supposed to be sending me another one...when I get this one in I am buying a truck cover and keeping the truck completely covered up. We will see what it does then.
You can clearly see where my floor mats go.

They get their carpet from the same supplier as virtually everyone else; Auto Custom Carpets or ACC.
I've posted several times about the truly crap-tastic quality of their products.
How many decades did the original oem carpet last? So how about ACC's claim that their carpet meets or exceeds oem specs? Seems like false advertising, huh?

Well I cheated a little bit...the truck originally had a green rubber mat....which came apart when I took it out to clean and bed line the floor.
Nobody offers the right green in the rubber mat now but the carpet is the correct green so I went with it.
The original looked good still but it just couldn't stand up to being removed from being so old.
Yeah I agree 100% about the false advertising. When I get the money to do a frame off restore I'll take it to a shop and pay whatever it costs to have carpet put in it.
