I figured this was the best spot to put this thread, my wife drives an 09 Incomplete vehicle(body job) with a 5.4l , looks like an Econoline driveline but not sure, anyways, one morning the wipers just quit, worked the night before but now nothing, not even washers, where the heck do I start? The fuse and relay center in the engine compartment is not labelled so I have no idea what to look for, all fuses test ok but dont know what relay is used for the wipers. I feel it may be the switch but I would like to know for sure before I buy one, any ideas for me ?
Here's a diagram. I do not know exactly what a "smart junction box" is, but it looks like it has a 5 amp fuse in it, and the underhood fuse box has a wiper relay and a f49, 30 amp fuse. AutoZone.com Repair Guide Image
There are some more diagrams where I got this one on Autozone's site. It has component location views and fuse box layouts, so if you have a fast connection it would be worth it to go there.
Thanks Franklin2, I ended up finding a site that sent me to a Ford site and once I enetered the VIN it allowed me to view the owners manual, turns out the chassis is based on an E-450. I checked all the fuses and relays in the factory boxes and they all were fine , then I started following wires and found some sort of module on the firewall right next to the bulkhead and it had a fuse inline one of the wires, turns out it was blown, put in a new one and they work fine now, just hope it doesnt happen again , it could be a nitemare to figure out what the reason is.
