Yeah but from reading everyone's deltas on here most peoples are more than 15 degrees apart when pulling trailers. Mine definitely go up on the long hills on I-68 when I have 8-10k behind me. I've had as much as 30 degress delta in the summer.
When i first got the truck running, with the original PCM data, i found out my oil cooler was plugged as after 3miles on the interstate, i had almost a 40degree split on oil/water temp..
after i got it fixed, the most i've seen split while towing a cat has been 15degrees, in the middle of summer in GA.. normally i sit at 8degrees split, and never got any codes..
but if my egr valve was keeping the fan from working properly, hopefully this next summer my temps will be better!
yeah mine are 5-9 degrees apart while cruising. If I pull a long hill empty they go up to 10-12, maybe more if it downshifts and the hill is particularly long and steep. But towing a trailer, they are 9 or 10 degrees a lot more often, and on long hills like cheat mountain and sidling hill, that go on for 4-5 miles at a 5 or 6 degree or steeper slope, they get 20 degrees apart or more every time, even if I take it easy.
