Taught you nothing?

Wow. I picked up a lot of good pointers from him. For example, the ability to remove the HPOP without taking off the intake manifold. All manuals I have looked at say you have to. And the tools to use to get the up-pipe clamps loose and the use of a pry bar to pop them off. And then there is the way he kneels on something rather than just leans over. After seeing that approach I made a 'bench' that sits just behind the grill. I took four ~ 14" sections of 2"x4" and set one on each side of the hood latch, then set the second ones on top and screwed em together. Remove the hood latch bolts and let it sit between them. (Take it off and on whenever you want to use your bench.) Next I took a 2"x12" by ~ 34" long and set it on the double 2"x4" stacks and screwed it to them. Then lift it off and wrap the top with old carpet and staple to the bottom of 2"x12". Now you have a secure, padded rest to kneel on. Try it and you will see how the 2"x12" pretty much self-aligns and how well this works. Makes a big difference when working in that engine compartment. Think I will patent it!

Cheezit as a tech I'm sure you've been in that deep many times I meant more along the lines of us who are mere mortals that haven't been in there.. Seeing the order of operations helps alot also... And how he positions tools in there to get to some of the more difficult bolts... I see how if you had to do your oil cooler the videos would ease the nerves a bit...
That being said I think he could be more careful with maybe blocking intake ports and stuff from debris but all in all a very helpful set of videos..

you will not see of alot mechanics say "that guy is good". it is not in their DNA, kinda like how that dude on tv that trashes evey other tradesmans work, it just goes with the territory, if it weren't for the master techs videos, I would have had alot more tough time doing my oil cooler job myself, and i paid him nothing in return, I wish I could shake his hand for the great videos, to be humble is one of the greatest of attributes one can aspire to have.

I don't think cheezit was being rude... He's just stating his opinion which is what I was shooting for when I posted this.. But I too like the videos alot.. His injector videos are good too

My question at this point is a WWCD...What Would Cheezit Do? Take for instance, his oil cooler replacement video...is that how you normally replace one or do you have a different method to the madness? I'm far from God's gift to mechinacs; and what little I know about the 6.0L is from everything I've read here....that's why I'm asking a guy that has more than likely replaced more of them than I'll ever see.

I watched several of his videos and as a retired truck mechanic I'll tell you I learned a bunch just as I have reading this forum. I retired before all of this electronic stuff came along and have been mystified by it for a while. Like I said I've learned a bunch in the last couple of months and my hat's off to you techs out there.
I watched his videos about lifting the cab for maintenance and was surprised at how nicely they come off, my artificial hips don't let me climb stoop and bend like I used to so this summer when I do the after warranty stuff ,IE egr delete etc. that's what I plan to do.
