My stepson has a 94 Bronco with a rusted out leaf spring frame bracket. The bracket that has failed is on the passenger side, the rear bracket. Access looks tight because of the gas tank. Is it possible to get to all 4 bolts without removing the tank?

I've done this job on my F150 where there was more space to work.

 

Are they bolted or riveted? Don't have my to check right now. I don't think it'd be too hard.

 

If it is a factory bracket it is riveted in. My favorite way to remove the rivets is drilling out the center, and chiseling off the head, then punching the rivet body through the hole.

The nuts for the new bracket are a little tricky to get to with the fuel tank in there, not hard, but time consuming.

And, you are working around a fuel tank, so be very careful with your choice of tools.

 

The bracket is riveted on, so it's the original.

Time is something the boys has. Now whether or not he is willing to invest it to fix his truck is another story....

On my F150 is was tight getting some of the hardware in but manageable.

I did the rear leaf spring shakles and hangers on my 93 about a year ago with out removing the tank it is a pain but not hard also but my parts from autoandtrucksprings.com
Oh on mine with the tank still on the vehical on both sides there were to bolts i had to run in from the ops side then cut the threads so that they would not hit the springs

 

I found it easier to grind the head of the rivits flush to the bracket then use a drift to punch it through. Used grade 8 hardware to bolt on a new flip bracket I welded up
