i bought a pair of knock-off torque thrust wheels and they didnt come with the center caps. i have searched and searched about info on these and the best i can come up with is that from screw to screw on the center cap ears is 2.25 in.. when i measure my vintage knock-offs i come up with 2 1/8 in. from center to center. if anyone has a set of american racing with the caps or a set of knock-offs and could measure them for me that would be great. figure i would try here first before getting my butt chewed on the h.a.m.b.
I've got a set of really old A/R caps from the 70's and the screw holes are 2 3/16 c to c. Half way between what you have. I'm guessing whatever you find could be 'adjusted' to fit.
Yep, I've got a pair that I had to "massage" the holes a little.
Also, AR tork thrust "d"s and tork thrust originals (TTO) use different caps.
Plus, there were about a hundred different "copycat" brands....Fenton, Anson, Appliance, etc.
Do you know what brand you have?
thanks for checking guys. i think i'm gonna have to try and find a cheap pair and try to make them work. either that or search swap meets with the wheel in hand. packing a wheel around a fair grounds doesnt sound like that much fun. the wheels are suppose to be the (tto) and not the "d" and the only markings on them are two K's stamped on the back and a B. who knows what that means. good thing is i got them bought right so the rest will just be gravy, with or without caps.
well, found some aluminum a/r caps on amazon for $14 a piece. the holes in the ears were 2.25 center to center so a little work with the dremel and some different screws and kapow, they turned out great. i gotta learn how to post pics because these wheels look sweet. the local tire shop wanted $40 per cap so i am way ahead of the game. thanks for the advice!

Reason: trying to add pics
would like to say thanks to my 11 year old son for showing me how to post pics! wanted to get it back at the top of the page just to show them off a little bit. they are not truck related as they are going on the front of my Galaxie, but i think they are cool none the less.
We should all be allowed to rent a buddy's 11 year old occasionally to help us sort through these problems. Ryan looks to have you solidly on track to posting pics. Give him an "attaboy" for me. Stu
