Well, everything ran great for the last 2 weeks. Guess that was her Christmas gift for me. Buuuut, went out this morning, got a wts, turned the key and it took about 8 seconds of cranking.......then it sounded like one bank of the motor was running while the other was not. After about 4 seconds of that the other bank caught and it spunded fine.
Killed it, waited, then started it again-no problem. Went fine all the way to the store, and fired right up to bring it home.
A few days ago, i had a similiar problem. I cranked for about 10 seconds and got a bunch of white smoke from under the hood. Couldnt see where from and when i had someone else crank while i watched it started right up-ran find till start up today.
It did it right after i changed my starter too. Huuuuge plume of smoke from under the hood. I thought i fried my pcm or something. So GPR?
Hmm, check the starter relay on the passenger side fender. Not that it's bad but ensure all the connections on the two big bolts are tight and secure. Did not know this occurred after changing the starter ... might of fried the fuse links to the GPR, something smoked.
I quess more like romps, but it was obviously only running on a few cylinders. There the nomral PSD lope at startup, but this was way different, literally like it was only running on 4 cylinders and then the other chimed in all at once.
It was kind of like (insert funny sound effects here) starter-starter-starter(7-8 seconds of cranking)-bwap.....bwap.....bwap....bwap(running on one bank)...bwap.....bwap bwap(others begin to fire) bwap bwapbwapbwap...running normal.
