i have a 2000 f150 XLT 4.2L v6 it has 219,000 miles on about a week ago i started up my truck it was cold(the truck not outside temp) and a loud squeal started i isolated it to the water pump so a couple of days ago i changed the water pump and i have the same problem it sounds to me like bearings goin out i checked all the other pulleys and there quiet and sound great but i put a screw driver on the water pump and put my ear to it and its coming from the water pump(its sounds to be) i know the timing chain and gears or basically behind the pump could it be that????? or what????

It's one of the pullies the belt drives.
Take the belt off to prove it.
Alternator, power steering, idler etc.
Cold temps shrink demensions and if a bearing is wore out and dry of lube it will holler.

Mine did that too. When its cold or damp out. amazing enough I just put some baby powder on the belt and the squeel or clirp is gone. I need a new belt. But like bluegrass said remove your belt and fire it up. And spin the pulleys

Try replacing the accessory drive belt and belt tensioner. The tensioners get weak or stick over time and can cause the belt to slip. Also check the crankshaft pulley. Sometimes to outer ring will slip in the rubber. If the rubber looks like it is coming out of the pulley, its probably bad.
