Hard Starting
1. already said but the injectors were made to handle 48 volts
2. 58 volts makes the FICM HOTTER its in a hot spot already I think the heat is partly to blame for failing ficms anyway
3. 58 volt Ficms tend to die suddenly
where as a 48 volt FICM usually gives you some warning B4 it totaly goes
4. Some repair places dont even offer a 58 volt mod anymore pretty shure ED at ficm repair wont do it So you would have to go thru swamps IIRC
I did replace as suggested both batteries & have no further problems. I went to local auto parts store & they gave me a price of $249 a piece & warranty was only 18 months. My daughter had told me about AAA program & checked it out online & someone called without me leaving my chair within mins..2 batteries replaced @$225 installed with a 3 year warranty..PLUS after 1st 3 years you get an additional 3 year prorated warranty...how could you go wrong...they were here the same day to get things done..call, price & replace all in same day without leaving home...Great Deal.
Well I ALSO WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU GUYS for giving this rookie diesel owner great advice...
Eddie
