I am new here so bear with me if this is common knowlege. I just bought a 68 f250 with a 390, manual, and 8 lug gear and wanted to know if the 4 inch blocks in the back are factory or a lift. They appear to be factory because of the bumpstop platforms on the side. How high did these come cause it's clearing 35's. Also do you know a good vin number web site. Highboy?
Yep, those are factory blocks.
It is a "Highboy", they will clear 35's no problems.
I have been told that with the 4" Skyjacker lift, you can fit 40's.
measure the diameter on the locking hubs of your front axle. If they are 4 1\2 inches or so ...you probably have the closed-knuckle, heavy duty, dana 44 series front axle. In any case, your rear axle should be the full-floating , dana 60 series. You should have the removable , exterior axle . with the 10 small bolts , i believe. fd
the data plate in on the door, but the door isn't original so it doesn't do me any good. the front end is a closed knuckle and the rear end is full floating. Is there any way to put disc brakes on that front for not to much $. Also did any of these trucks come with power steering that I can use to convert mine. I'll have to snoop around the junk yards. We should get a group purchase going through skyjacker
