The other side was my first choice, but the heater housing/fan is right in the way. I had to fab up a "box" with an inlet and outlet on oppisite ends to get it were it is now. Also had to cut out part of the inner fender support for the box.
Thats the idea man! That piece on there right now is just the piece I bent up for a mold. The guys at work in the fiberglas shop made me a sweet one to replace it with. It will be going on this spring.

I have thought something like that would work nice. All international 9200 and 9400 series trucks all through the 90's have a similar scoop on the sides of them. There are plenty of these trucks in salvage yards, that is what I was thinking would work pretty easy.
Boy, yo momma gonna whoop your **** when she finds out what you did with her dryer vent!
Now you sound like the guys at work. Thing is I checked out the dyer vents but they didn't have the length I wanted lol! I will try to get an other pic if it aint raing today.
I THINK I'LL TAKE A SHOT AT THAT,but i want to run a snorkel tube up along the windshield. some guys in my town make them out of pvc, at the jerzy shore area roads can get flooded , during nor-easters
how well does it really help is it much better than down to the front where they had orignially put it cause if so then i think i might just do that too
I know that my regular temps (egts) running down the road have not dropped much. But the time it takes top drop back down after getting on is faster and it doesn't climb as high or as fast when running 55 and hitting a hill. It seems to pull better up the hills at speed as well. Seeing as it is a ram air type system this is understandable. I had the cowl type set up on the 88 body and then when I switched bodies I worried about he size of the cowl vent slots on the 81 body so i went with the up front type. But with my plow on last winter it seemed to reduce the affects (plow blocking the air).
The ting to remeber is that this is not just a hole cut thru the fender. I had to build a box with an opening on one end coming out the side and then just the opppisite on the other end. I also had to cut out part of the inner fender supprt to fit the box in there. I am sorry that I didn't get picks of the box before I installed it but it was sorta a rush job. I had help that day and decided to get it done. I have learned that when "help" is there use it, cuase it don't always come thru you know lol.
