I have a 99 f250 v10 with a automatic tranny. the other day i was going down the road and the tranny made a funny noise. and now it like it in low lock. it won't shift out of 1st until it get to 5500 rpm and the same for 2nd gear. and won't go to 3rd, Any ideas
Or do i need to take it to a tranny shop and get it rebuild? I hope not
I would have it towed to trans shop to have the codes read. When one of our Explorers had trans issues the shop suggested shifting manually (1, 2 D) to leg it into the shop.
I guess there know one that know or has and idea one what it going on with my tranny
I sure don't, sorry. If I knew what codes were stored I'm sure I could help you figure it out. Without the codes it will take more parts.
If you want to fix it without getting the codes read here's what you should do, in this order to save the most amount of money.
Change the transmission. If that doesn't fix it, change the engine and transmission wiring harness.
If that doesn't fix it, change the PCM.
That should cover everything that could be causing your problem. If I knew the codes I could narrow the problem down quite a bit. But I'm not physic, I can't tell what is wrong without information.
